Osornio's heart. She homeschooled her own children for many years, passing on her love of books and learning. In 2004, she assisted in developing a reading program for Downey Child Care Center, targeting second through sixth graders. Since then, Osornio has written over sixty short stories for the program. An active member of the Society of Children's Book Writers and Illustrators, Osornio has also contributed articles to Clubhouse Jr. and Discovery Years, both Focus on the Family publications, and was a columnist for Crossmap.com. Her piece The Great Cedars of Lebanon appeared in Learning Through History magazine in 2006, and she regularly participates in her local ministry newsletter. Osornio graduated in 1985 from Columbia College Hollywood in Los Angeles with a bachelor of arts degree in cinema, with an emphasis in cinematography. She has worked as a bookstore clerk, office manager, and camera assistant. She writes fiction and nonfiction for children and adults, and she is a locally published cartoonist. When she isn't writing, Osornio enjoys biking and spending time with her family.
